Executive Director Margie Marino invites you to a Virtual Summit Webinar on the Future of Natural History Museums and Science Centers on Friday, September 25th, 2020 from Noon to 1:30pm Mountain Time.

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science is in the process of updating our strategic plan in the context of the pandemic and the uncertain future for natural history museums and other cultural organizations. As part of our strategic planning process, we are looking to the Summit to provide important direction and insights into issues of critical concern and success factors as we move into recovery and the “next” normal.

The Virtual Summit will explore current and future issues that Natural History Museums are facing —such as ongoing impacts of the global pandemic, the potential and future of digital content delivery, current thinking on tactile/”hands-on” experiences, and the evolution of revenue and organizational models. Panelists will include Natural History and Science Museum leaders from across the country, including Dr. Kirk Johnson, Sant Director of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

Hosted and facilitated by our planning consultants, Lord Cultural Resources, the Virtual Summit will be an important opportunity for you to hear from and engage with the most current thinking on the future of our field.
