Howdy families with 3 – 5 year old learners! We are so happy you are eagerly anticipating the next session of Prehistoric Preschool. We are working hard getting our next sessions of Prehistoric Preschool ready to go. We anticipate the next session starting in March… keep an eye on this site for further details.
We are excited to share the news that Ms. Grace is taking advantage of new and exciting career opportunities at the University of New Mexico. While we are sad to see her go, we wish her well in her new endeavors! Ms. Deb and Ms. Kelly, staff educators are both thrilled to step into the role of Co-Educators this spring for the Prehistoric Preschool program and look forward to engaging in fascinating science with you all!

New Mexico’s Dinosaurs & Prehistoric Reptiles:
What do Tyrannosaurs Rex, Seismosaurus, and Quetzalcoatlus all have in common? Despite being some of the biggest animals of their kind they are also all found here in New Mexico. So get your magnify glass and pickax and prepare for an adventure into prehistoric times to discover what dinosaurs and prehistoric reptiles are unique to New Mexico!

Rocks & Volcanoes
Prepare your young geologist for an adventure into the depths of the Earth to understand the geologic features of New Mexico. Explore the wonders within the Earth’s crust as we discuss the rock cycle, mineralogy, and explosive volcanoes. So grab your rock hammer and embark on an epic adventure to discover the stories rocks have to tell!

Preregistration is required.
All class participants must be accompanied by an adult. No more than two children may be registered per adult companion and no more than two adult companions may accompany any one child. Permission for attendance by siblings younger than 3 is made on a case-by-case basis with Early Childhood Educator. Maximum class size is 12 children and their adult companions.
Cancellations made within seven days before the program are subject to forfeiture of the full payment. Cancellations made prior to seven days before the program are subject to a 50% handling fee. A waiting list will be maintained for each session that is full; no deposit is required. People on the waiting list will be notified in sequential order. Full refund will be given if the session is canceled by the Museum due to low enrollment. The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science reserves the right to cancel any event that does not reach a minimum of 6 participants.
$90.00 for the first child, $81.00 for the second child in the same family. Museum members receive a 10% discount. Scholarships are available for children who qualify.
