Earth Science Week: Earth Science Family Day

Oct 12 2024 - 12:00pm to 3:00pm
Location:
Museum

Join us for a family day featuring demos and displays from many different Earth Science topics. Talk with Earth scientists, and learn about New Mexico’s rocks and minerals, volcanoes and dinosaurs! Visitors will have a chance to discover the fossils of New Mexico and explore the geology of our neighbors in space: the Moon, Mars and Venus. Enjoy hands-on activities.

Special guests with info and demos include geologists from the New Mexico Bureau of Geology, the ABQ Seismological Lab, UNM Institute of Meteoritics, and others. And in celebration of International Archaeology Day (also a part of Earth Science Week), there will be special guests from UNM's Maxwell Museum.

This family day kicks off Earth Science Week, a global movement towards understanding and cherishing our planet. Learn more at earthsciweek.org.
