Description: With the help of one of her Australian Shepherds, Dr. Deborah Potter will explain and demonstrate the scope of this exciting and rewarding volunteer activity – pet therapy. She will talk about the teamwork of dog and handler, the different places that Therapy Dogs visit, and the many benefits of their interactions with children and adults. As a Tester/Observer for the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, she will explore the qualities and abilities of dogs that are nationally registered.  It will be a fun, interactive session with time for questions, answers, and discussion.  

Mission: Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) is an international registry of certified therapy dog teams. We provide testing, certification, registration, support, and insurance for members who volunteer with their dogs in animal assisted activities. Our objective is to form a network of caring individuals and their special dogs who share smiles and joy with people, young and old alike.
